| ITEM No.: 57 CD No.: 145 EMBOSSING: (f) Brookfield (b) New York COLOR: Yellow green. CONDITION: Vnm+. SUMMARY: A seldom seen color/mold combo that was obviously produced in small numbers by Brookfield. We have only heard of them being found in the Central California area. These thick, hefty beehives were definitely designed with structural integrity in mind. The attractive yellow green color and thick glass, coupled with its scarcity gives it heightened collector appeal. The color appears to be leaning toward Depression glass green, having a similar brilliance and glowing quality, but slightly less yellow. There is a nice light splash of milk flowing down the left side that responds well with base lighting. Even though these beehives were designed with super thick glass, the inner skirts were not. This resulted in the majority having inner skirt chips, some quite sizable. The inner skirt on this example appears factory perfect. ESTIMATED VALUE: $200 - $275 OPENING BID: $150 PRICE REALIZED: $198 |
