ITEM No.: 64 CD No.: 132.4 EMBOSSING: Patent Dec 19 1871 COLOR: Rich blue aqua. CONDITION: Base flange has two minor slices off each corner (see View 2). Easily rated at vnm for this damage prone style. SUMMARY: Referred to by collectors as the "Chambers companion". This style was used as a standoff for the vertical section of the lightning rod in conjunction with the Chambers CD 317 style. The "companions" were exposed to considerable damage from movement of the metal rod, particularly during high wind periods. This damage was primarily inflicted to the corners of the lower flange and the rod inset area. They are commonly found with a much greater degree of damage and finding one in better condition can be a difficult challenge. This example is in wonderfully good condition, it displays great from any angle and the rich, nearly teal aqua color is quite appealing. ESTIMATED VALUE: $600 - $700 OPENING BID: $400
