CD 723 nn (dot-dash) blue aqua, #67

ITEM No.: 67  CD No.: 723  EMBOSSING: [raised dots and dashes]  COLOR: Blue aqua.  CONDITION: Three very minor match head flakes on the skirt base. At least vnm for this style, possibly better.  SUMMARY: This early threadless was originally designed with a wood cover to protect it from projectiles. They were largely installed in Native American territory to alleviate constant maintenance to the lines due to broken glass insulators. Even with the wood shield once covering them, the glass insulator itself can be rather difficult to find in vnm-mint condition. This example is right up there and about as good as they get, even some of the thin overpoured glass remains on the base. The aqua glass has a strong, vivid blue cast to it and contains some noticeable wisps of olive amber.
