| ITEM No.: 71 CD No.: 701.6 EMBOSSING: none COLOR: Dark jade green blackglass. CONDITION: Vnm. SUMMARY: Incredible condition for a Richmond egg. Even though it does have some minor imperfections, we can easily rate this one at vnm. Most of the 701.6 eggs from the Richmond dig were found with damage, deformities and/or fracturing from the fire. This one has an unbelievably pristine base and even has the thin fins of glass present that squeezed out between the base plate and the mold body. Even though the glass color is very dark and dense, when holding the base edge up to a light source one can see that the color is a jade-like mossy green. As one would expect, it is very crude in appearance, with an almost crystalline surface in some areas. A primo specimen compared to most. ESTIMATED VALUE: $375 - $450 OPENING BID: $275 PRICE REALIZED: $743 |
