| ITEM No.: 77 CD No.: 317 EMBOSSING: (f) Chambers Pat Aug 14 1877 (b) Patent Dec 19 1871 COLOR: Blue aqua. CONDITION: Vnm+! SUMMARY: The "candlestick" Chambers CD 317 insulators were used as standoffs for the horizontal rod cable that ran from the lightning rod to ground. This example is found in a rich shade of bluish aqua that is jammed full of bubbles. This dramatically bubbly richer aqua shade contrasts very well with any of the basic lighter aqua shades. The design and use of the Chambers "candlestick" insulators left them prone to damage, especially to the base and edges of the top saddle groove. This example is in extraordinary condition! These are truly seldom seen in this remarkable combination of character and condition. ESTIMATED VALUE: $675 - $750 OPENING BID: $400 PRICE REALIZED: $550 |
