ITEM No.: 23 CD No.: 127.4 EMBOSSING: none COLOR: Rich aqua. CONDITION: Only a paper-thin match-head base flake and short surface-only annealing line, so about vnm+. SUMMARY: This is Hemingray’s early unembossed ‘blobtop’ style, which can also be found embossed with ‘Patent Dec 19, 1871’. The rich, solid dome glass provides extra appeal, as does the meandering milk swirl. In fact, following the milk swirl can become dizzying, as it travels and squiggles well over two feet back and forth throughout the insulator. A nice solid example in great condition! (From the Sandra Drummond collection.) ESTIMATED VALUE: $450 - $550 OPENING BID: $200 PRICE REALIZED: $743 |
